have you heard the famous saying “you pay for what you get”. here is prime example of cheap to higher quality Candles cost. “Your Health”

Alot people think cheap is alway good but not no why they are cheap.

Most candles found in the marketplace today are made from paraffin wax. Paraffin candles are the cheapest candles available, which accounts for their popularity. A waste product of the petroleum industry, paraffin is a sludge-like substance which burns readily. very unhealthy.

A study conducted at South Carolina State University found that with paraffin candles, this combustion process also releases toxic chemicals such as toluene, which is a benzene derivative, a known carcinogen for humans.

In fact, the toxins released from paraffin candles are the same as those found in diesel fuel fumes and are linked to asthma and lung cancer.

CHEAP IS NOT ALWAYS BETTER

Candles don’t like to be too hot. Maintaining a healthy candle temperature is key when it comes to the amount of smoke it produces. A good rule of thumb so things don’t get too hot: Only burn your candle for four hours at a time and let the liquid pool go solid again before reburning. Always keep yur wick before you burn at 1/4″ , this will also give you a better burn rate and not over heat the candle.

All of our Candles are tested for burn rates and listed on our site for each candle aprox time frame. Time frame will slightly diferent in each house due to air circulation, or people walking by the candle etc. But we narrow it down to a time frame during test that will give a good idea of time.

When the wick is too long, a candle will burn too quickly and an imbalance of heat and fuel will produce a larger flame with more smoke and soot.

We recommend that you trim your wick every time you burn your candle. Trimming your wick is a simple and quick
that will ensure a cleaner burn from your candle. Your wick should be trimmed to ¼ inch above the set wax at all times.

non-toxic candles are made with natural and renewable ingredients such as soy wax, beeswax, or coconut wax, palm wax

If it’s pure wax like beeswax, palm wax and soy rest assured it isn’t going bad. Blooms, the cloudy looking strange white residue is a natural part of the oxidation process. It happens overtime, especially when pure wax specially beeswax gets cold or there are temperature changes in storage. This is a good thing since this gives the indication you have a pure natural wax.

Cleaning the blooms off: The heat of your hand can warm up your beeswax candle enough to then take a soft cloth and polish off the bloom. Be sure the cloth is soft as you don’t want any rough edges marring or scrapping the beeswax. Alot of candle connoisseur look for this and keep this look on their candles. But very easy to remove as well.

Glass Jars – Why does my candle have white spots or patches on the glass jar.?
These ‘spots’, also known as frosting, generally appear on  candles and is a result of crystallization of the wax. This is more common in colder months and can occur as soon as the candle is set or after being stored. This is very common thing that occurs on all natural candles out there on the market. (if 100% natural wax is used).

Due to the handmade nature and 100% purity of the wax of our product, some slight differences (eg. frosting) in appearance may be present. This does not negatively affect product performance.

Understanding essential oils and fragrance oils
Fragrance oils are synthetic oils developed for their scent, for use in candles and body products.

essential oils are all-natural because they are extracted directly from the plant,.

Paraffin candles produce black soot that tends to stain and ruin interior surfaces. Even before carcinogenic chemicals are added to paraffin candles to harden the wax, bleach is added to make it white. That’s way to many chemicals!

Trim the Wicks:
Trim your wicks to about ¼ inches before each use. This promotes a cleaner and more efficient burn.

Even Burning:
Make sure your candle burns long enough for the wax to melt evenly across the surface. This prevents tunneling and ensures an even burn.

Proper Storage:
Store your candles in a cool, dark place. This protects them from heat and light, which can cause discoloration and fragrance loss.

Draft-Free Areas:
Avoid burning candles in drafty areas. Drafts can cause uneven burning and excessive flickering.

Preventing Soot:
If your candle produces soot, extinguish it, trim the wick, and relight it. This maintains a cleaner burn and preserves the fragrance. Also trim wick reduce flame height if needed.
